What makes me say this? Well, I have just spend a few days in the presence of Robert Kiyosaki, the author of ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’ at the National Achievers Congress in London and although I have read some of the Rich Dad books over the years, hearing Robert’s common sense approach to wealth just hits you right between the eyes. In my eyes, no book can do it justice!
I don’t know about you, but I am planning on becoming financially free over the next few years and in order to make sure that I get it right, no matter what the economic climate is throwing at us over the coming years, I understand that I can not just put all my eggs in one basket, namely only making money on the internet, but that I need to learn about lots of different baskets. Richard Duncan, a well known economist, who is one of Robert’s advisers and who Robert refers to as the modern day John Maynard Keynes, put it into context and words that even I could understand:
“Have different investments working for you to make sure that you don’t get caught up in the coming (inevitable) bust.” Richard suggests to invest in the following areas:
1 – Real Estate, e.g. buy houses and let them out
2 – Debt with a fixed interest rate, e.g. fixed rate mortgage, to make sure you always know your outgoings
3 – Gold
4 – Blue Chip stocks with high dividends, all over the world (not just in one country)
5 – Government bonds (in particular German & US bonds)
It really opened my eyes and although it all sounded gloom and doom, because it really is quite gloomy at the moment, it actually propelled me into action and I have come up with a strategic plan to get myself out of the Rat Race within the next few months.
Hopefully you’ll find this post useful, even though it’s not about Internet Marketing as such, but I was so impressed that I felt I wanted to share this with you. And if you think ‘What on earth is the Secret Marketer on about?’ I’d suggest that you go to Amazon and get yourself a copy of Rich Dad, Poor Dad and start investing in your financial education.
Do good stuff – not only on the Internet!
